ABOUT THE PROJECT
Amarilis had a clear vision that as a coach and consultant she wants to be seen as working toward the liberation of BIPOC leaders and doing it with joy, playfulness, seriousness of purpose. She is serious about her work, yet she didn’t want another set of photos that didn’t show different facets of her personality. In our consultation the words bold, joy and liberation guided us. Bold colors, powerful moves and a joyful vision for what our world can be when her clients’ humanity is centered.

The Results
While I am in the Bay Area and Amarilis is based out of Connecticut, we met up at a hotel in Los Angeles before heading to a retreat center. The hotel offered multiple settings for us to create bold and powerful portraits of Amarilis. We also brought in a model to represent Amarilis’ clientele and the outdoor spaces offered settings that allowed her to engage authentically and joyfully, like walking and talking with clients.
