Tech ethicist & advocate
Dr Dèdè Tetsubayashi designs equitable, imaginative futures through technology, fashion, and inclusive travel.
Dr Dèdè was building her personal brand separate from her company, incluu. She needed photographs to support her increased visibility.
Her desire was to showcase different aspects of her work. We landed on a strategy to communicate these ideas through the locations we chose.
As a tech ethicist she is advocates in halls of power whether in government offices or Silicon Valley startup board rooms. To capture this idea of power, we chose to photograph at San Francisco City Hall.
Her disability advocacy stems from her own health journey and Oakland’ Children’s Hospital was critical to that journey.
The SF Ferry Building provided a great backdrop for her professional images with a range of emotions and details.
We ended her session with a walk through the Oakland Farmer’s Market, where she was stopped multiple times for folks to compliment her wardrobe.
Through planning sessions that kept her goals and impact front and center, we were able to create a portfolio of custom images that she and her team could rely on to communicate her multi-faceted mission.
Brainstorming with Dr Dèdè was a blast because she was open to exploring and stretching what was possible. Her joyful spirit and seriousness of purpose really shown through in her photographs.
